Pat's Guest Book archive, September, 2002.

Mr. Martino, I got hooked on your playing when I was in college in the mid-70's. I saw you when you last played in the St. Louis area promoting "Joyous Lake", April 3, 1977; it was my 23rd birthday, and that was quite a present. I've got tickets to see you here in December and can't wait for the day to arrive. My son says to mention that he enjoys your albums too. After 25+ years of listening, I still tell people that there's NOBODY else that plays the way that you do! Best wishes.

Hey Pat! It's Bobby Corsetti's daughter, Kristin. Dad told me you were going into the studio in a few days to record a new album so good luck! And I hope your eye is better! I wish I could've seen you when you were in the city but mom and dad had just moved me in upstate. I hope I get to see you play soon and tell dad to behave himself. ( I can't keep him in check if I'm not home, ya know? hehehe ) Bye!

Hello Mr. Martino, The very first time I heard you play I didn't know who you were but your sound really captured my intrigue. Today your music inspires me very much and I find the way you aproach music very interesting and somewhat "mind bogling". Your fan, Joel

Hey! How's it's going? HAPPY BIRTHDAY in case i missed It and; as always your CREATIVE FORCE videos have hepled to see the the guit ina new way ; connecting all the things I had run into before but couldn't bring them together.I also had a thought, you semm to hint at baseing the guitar on an older system(older than western-european classical) and I would to know if this from your culture or and your experiances(study and such) As i tell my friends, your Parental Form system reminds me of the Buhdist pholsiphy of the lotus ;that blooms and breeds simlutaniously i would like to hear more about this! STAY COOL!!

I've been a fan of Pat's music for many years, but recently have revisited his albums Live, Strings, and Consciousness. His ability to run off such long strings of 8th notes at such fast tempos amazes me. I've done this with my blues playing the last few months, playing over changes going through the cycle of 5ths, and my own unique style is starting to develop. It's really exciting. Jazz improv is intimidating to me but I would like to apply this method to 2-5-1 progressions too and see what develops. Pat's music is a constant inspiration and I thank him for giving us all such beauty.

Whatts up Pat........ I saw you play at the Blue Note in New York City, on June 22nd of 2002. You guys (also Defrancesco and Byron) were amazing. Larry Coryell was also there that night.... After the show, I went upstairs to meet you.... I had maybe a two minute conversation with you, then you signed my Nightwings transcription book... You looked a little surprised that I had it.... And you looked even more surprised at the way I was dressed.. I was wearing this really nice suit and probably was the only kid there dressed like that....... Hey, but I felt it to be an obligation to wear it.... Besides I ended up meeting you anyway..... I know I'm only 17, and I shouldn't be getting ahead of myself, but I just have to learn those solos.... I've been studying your music ever since I was 14 and I started playing guitar when I was 7. I starting getting into jazz a few years ago, and then eventually came upon your style. That's when I decided to engulf my studies in your music. Pat I really find your music as some kind of language that no one can learn how to speak, but with time and patience I'll get somewhere around there.... maybe not for decades..., but that doesn't mean I'll give up.... You really are a phenominal musician, and I hope to see you again sometime. Until then, peace and God Bless... - Jarett DeSanti
