USA - Sunday, October 31, 2004 at 11:47:38 (EST)Hello from Don Plue: Dear Pat Martino--Belated Happy Birthday Greetings and many more! Your currentlessons on Lazybird, Minority and Giant Steps are amazing and a wonderful example of "minor conversion" ( Linear Expressions )-- among many other revelations, it de-mystifies the Giant Steps harmonic cycle completely.Your genius continues to amaze and inspire. God bless you and yours!

philadelphia, pa USA - Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 16:46:32 (EDT)Dear Pat, Thanks so much for posting the Giant Steps studies! That should keep me busy for awhile :-) I actually had the privilege of doing a private lesson with you at UARTS a couple of years ago. It would be a real thrill to sit down and do another one if time permitted. Can't wait to see you again live. Take care! You are the best!

Somerdale, NJ USA - Friday, October 29, 2004 at 16:54:50 (EDT)Thank you for the new material. I've been looking for a reason to revisit Giant Steps, and, well, this will be my reason. BTW, have you heard Kurt Rosenwinkel do Lazy Bird? Really worth listening to! My third favorite after yours on East and, of course, John Coltrain himself.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL. USA - Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 09:44:35 (EDT)I don't know much about Mr. Martino. I purchased a Jazziz Guitar magazine that included a CD with the song "Earthlings" from Think Tank. I like his style... and that's it, yep. And his pianist is incredible :-D.

philadelphia, pa USA - Monday, October 18, 2004 at 21:59:06 (EDT)Hi, I was just wondering if you remember playing with Tim Haden? He was my jazz guitar instructor at Clemson University this past year, but he also teaches in North Carolina. He claims to have known you from a long time ago, actually as far back as when you were 18 I think he said. Well if you get a chance to reply id really appreciate it.

Clemson, SC USA - Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 15:48:35 (EDT)HI pat I enjoy a lot lisening to "the maker" and I have notice the incredible tematic improvisation on "the changing tides", And especially the way you make feel to the others where you are gona take them and if thatīs because you were anouncing the climax points on the inicial part of the solo, I think It requires a lot of emotional memory!

Tokyo, JAPAN - Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 21:48:31 (EDT)Hi Pat, I see you're back on the road again. Hope it's going great! I would love to visit Japan some day...On kind of a business note, I wanted to mention that University of New Orleans (UNO) is having Peter Bernstein down for a master class/joint performance with their guitar ensemble. I thought of you. Obviously, we would love to have you do a class here, as well. Let me know, if you have an interest and see any possibility, and I can help pursue all the "proper channels" to get this in the works. Lots of very talented and enthusiastic musician/guitarists would do their best to make you as welcome as you could be. I send to you all my best wishes! Jeff

New Orleans, LA USA - Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 16:54:05 (EDT)Dear Pat,
hi. I grew up listening to my dad and brother playing guitar with you in our living room in Pittsburgh when you came in to visit to go to the Hurricane Club. My mom would cook you all dinner. I was a young girl then, and I would stay up all night listening to you all jam, until I fell asleep and my dad would carry me off to bed. Nice memories :-)
I would love to get a chance to connect with you, as I have been in the biz now for the past 20 years. I can be reached by email at stagecar (at) aol.com
If you reach me by email, I can then foward a number to you.
Hope to hear from you.
peace,
Linda
