Greetings,
I had lost track of Pat's site for awhile, but glad to see it's around... and nicely updated. When I first visited this site, I was very surprised to find a photo of myself with Lenny Breau and Pat in Nashville around 1976 or so. Lenny was a dear friend (and mentor) and I often went with him to his gigs, etc. He was opening for Pat at the Exit/In and we went back to see Pat between sets. Someone took a photo and all these years later I see it here on Pat's site. Man, it brings back such deep memories. The photo shows Pat & Lenny sitting side by side & myself in the mirror between them (a mere... uh... reflection).
I remember that night very well indeed. Pat was so gracious and the mutual respect between himself and Lenny was a fine thing. In fact I recall this meeting in a book I wrote on my years with Lenny (mainly technical, musical content but also some memories of my experiences, etc.) titled "Visions, a personal tribute to jazz guitarist Lenny Breau".
Pat has long been an inspiration for musicians everywhere, and it's very encouraging to see new generations of players discovering and digging his music. S. D. Anderson

Hello Pat. My comments will be short, but I just wanted to say that you have been guiding me on my musical quest and I thank you for that. Your soloing style, in my opinion, is in every aspect of the word perfect. I'd love nothing more than to sit in at a session with you just to have the inspiration in my presence that I feel on your albums. Thank you, Pat.

Pat Martino's music has been a great influence for me and my music. The first piece I heard was "You don't know what love is" and I've been hooked ever since. Just recently I took "We'll be together again" to my workplace and played it all day. People kept coming by my office all day asking, "Hey - What's that music?" and "Where can I get a copy?" I guess that speaks for itself. Pat - thanks for the many years of harmony, your dedication is an inspiration too us all, keep the spirit.
Ps. If you're in europe, please consider stopping by and playing at "Ricks" in Randers, Denmark. Ricks is a fine club with a great atmosphere. We just had Jimmy Smith stop by - He enjoyed it so much he promised to come back.

Hello Pat. Thanks for bringing such good jazz music to this world. I was wondering what kind of equipment Pat uses on the El Hombre album, and what he uses now?. If anyone know, please send me a mail.

Dear Pat, I recorded live at BLUES ALLEY, Georgetown DC on July 30, 2001 with our good friend Joey DeFrancesco as my special guest and Bertell Knox on drums. What an incredible night of jazz and blues.!! I also was blessed with our mutual good friend Mantis Evar on one selection "Lenny" who played spectacular bass. In addition, you have been such an incredible guitar inspiration to me, I respectfully in your honor ended the concert with "Mac Tough". What a great honor it is for me to be playing with Joey and to be able to dedicate a song to you. Ofcoarse I will obtain the proper legal permission prior to doing anything with the project. I just can't thank you enough for your love for the music and music for the love. God Bless you.
I would be honored to meet you someday.
Sincerly,

Hello Pat,
There's a number of great players out there. Including me!! But, you have something that sets you apart from them all. That's why I've particularly respected, learned from and enjoyed "your" playing and talent over the years.
Thank You!!

Hello Pat and fans of Pat. I just wanted to compliment you on your song Country Road. I Think it is one of the most lyrical melodies I've ever heard. It brings peace and joy to my heart. I was wondering if you wrote just the melody first then harmonized it or what. I hope, with God's blessing to write a tune so beautiful. Thankyou for what you have done to my ears Mr. Martino.

Pat, I have been playing guitar for about 5 years but only in the past year have I been playing Jazz. I am majoring in Jazz Guitar and Music Ed. At Western Connecticut State University. My first jazz teacher told me to listen to you and I did. I have to say i was amazed. I am just a freshman and it's only my first semester so everything is still very overwhelming, but one day i hope to play like you. P.S I have learned your version of Oleo on the "live at yoshi's" record- Thanks, Shane.

I gotta say....I've been playing for 37 years and most recently
have been applying Pat's minor conversion method to my playing
and the results are PHENOMEINAL. I knew all about theory, sustitution
whatever, but what a TOTALLY organic approach to the instrument!
I'm finding that this leads to truly new chromatic/intervalic
pathways too like integrating minor third intervallic motifs.
and ORGANIZING my chromatic playing.
Thanks, Pat

I was in Holland on holidays in 1974 and in a jazz club listening to a band with a fantastic jazz guitarist, whose name escapes me. I just HAD to chat to him after the show and I asked him who was his major influence on the jazz guitar. "That's easy" he said, "Pat Martino!" I told him I'd never heard of him but I would check out his music because of his recommendation. Well, the rest is history. I've been listening to Pat's "magic" ever since and have been totally mesmerized. Those long breaks in between were painful but I'm so glad, like many others, that Pat is again in full swing!! How about coming to Oz mate? We'd love to have you. All the best Pat and may God continue to provide you with that wonderful gift that we all enjoy!!

Pat rules!
I'm not what you would call a jazz amateur, and I don't understand most of it (all I can say on any piece is whether I like it or not), but I was just blown off by Mr Martino's playing! He definitely is one of the finest musicians I ever heard in my life

Pat,
I was fortunate to catch your show at Catalina's back in August in Los Angeles. I'd never even heard your music prior to the show. I snagged a set in the back and just got lost for a few hours in the spirit of your music. I've since gotten 3 of your albums and you really inspired me to take my guitar playing seriously -- I'm still having fun w/ it, but I'm giving it my all.
I've already got a ticket for your show at Yoshi's -- that should be quite a road trip!! Looking forward to seeing you in November. Take care, Mark
