Sacramento, CA United States - Thursday, November 29, 2001 at 07:20:09 (EST)Pat,
I just want to say thanks for such inspiring music. I'm a classical pianist and sitar player. I've been studying jazz for about a year now and have taken a few lessons from Jim Ridl, from whom I really learned a lot about the nature of music in general.
Nothing sounds better than hearing you tear up "Impressions" while I'm zooming up the G.S. Parkway at 80mph. I hope someday, that my music will inspire others in the way that yours inspires me. Thanks again!

Cream Ridge, NJ USA - Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at 17:10:43 (EST)Hey Pat! I'd like to send you my new CD, but I've misplaced
your address and phone number. I'd really like to get a copy to you if possible. Also, it was nice working around the corner from you this past weekend. Your positive vibes from "Chris'" made their way to "Zanzibar Blue" for my gigs.

Newark, DE USA - Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at 15:22:27 (EST)Pat - I don't know whether it was more thrilling to meet and talk with you or to see your performance (Yoshi's Nov 17). As I explained, the last time I had seen you live was at Keystone Korner - probably around 1974-1975. You were my inspiration then as a wanna-be jazz musician. I have to tell you - after all these years you are still the best! In addition, you are a gentlemen and so gracious with your time. You performed Sunny (it was killer) at my request and I will forever be grateful. Thank you so much!

Concord, CA USA - Monday, November 26, 2001 at 15:02:49 (EST)For all of us: I've been remiss in posting sooner, but I was in attendance for three of the recent trio shows at Yoshi's and all were great! I had the privelege of attending Pat's masterclasses at Stanford University this summer, and enjoyed speaking with him again at Yoshi's. At the late show on Saturday night I had the distinct impression during "Lament" of being at a church service and hearing some very special truth being delivered to me from the stage. It was great! Pat, thank you again for all your music and inspiration and the willingness to share your wisdom with all of us. And thank you for the special hospitality you showed to my 4-year old son Frank and to me. We will both remember that for years to come!
With warm regards,
John John Klopotowski <jklopotowski (at) earthlink.net>
San Francisco, CA USA - Monday, November 26, 2001 at 12:41:56 (EST)Pat, I'm wondering if you remember a man named John Mulhern.
I believe he was instrumental in helping get back into music
after your aneurism. If you remember him, please contact me.
He's a good friend of mine & I'd like to talk to you about
him. Thanks a lot. Diane

Is there also any chance to get a private lesson or a work shop from You? Therefor i would also come to the States.
Best wishes from Germany,

souderton, pa - Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 07:48:29 (EST)Dear Pat,
My name is Henry Corvinus. I was fortunate enough to meet you backstage after the show at Yoshi’s on November 16th. I’m using my nephew’s computer to post to your site.
I want to thank you for the chart of ‘On The Stairs’ and the autograph! I’m looking forward to having my own dedicated internet connection enabling me to spend more time browsing your web site. I also will be able to continuously post comment and questions about the evolution of your influences, development, and playing. Mainly because you have been a great inspiration to me for the last 25 years and I would of never imagined that I might have the opportunity to do so. The Trio with Joey DeFrancesco and Billy Hart was totally smoking! In fact I even think it’s best trio that I’ve seen Joey in. (There’s nothing like that old East coast strait ahead jazz bop!!!) A very genuine night of fine jazz music.

Hammond, IN - Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at 18:21:34 (EST)Hi Pat, I just saw your first four concerts on 11-15 & 11-16 at Yoshi's, and again it was fantastic. Always great to see What a drummer!!! The guitar-B3-drums trio is my favorite combo, and you guys were terrific. Fans: we all now need to trade in our Roland JC120's for Mesa Boogies, as this is what the MASTER used this time. Good luck to you Pat, to your family and friends and to all Pat fans all over the Universe.

Berkeley, CA USA - Monday, November 19, 2001 at 13:01:16 (EST)Pat, I recently had the pleasure of hearing you perform and meeting you at the Harrisburg Hilton Towers. It was great hearing you do many of the tunes from " Live at Yoshi's", as well as Wes's "Twisted Blues", and "The Great Stream" from your "Live" album. I've admired and been influenced by your recordings for many years and I'm glad I finally got a chance to hear you in person. I'm a jazz guitatist and composer myself, and I feel I would benefit greatly from studying with you. You may recall that I gave you two cd's of my music when I met you in Harrisburg. When you get a chance, please write me back to let me know if studying with you in Philidelphia would be a possibility. Sincerely, George Turner

Charlottesville, VA USA - Sunday, November 18, 2001 at 22:32:30 (EST)Hi Pat,
I read an excerpt on the Internet about your battle with having suffered an brain aneurysm. I, too, suffered a ruptured aneurysm, and have since undergone two brain surgeries to fix the damage that was done. I am 30 years old, and many days are still very difficult.
I have started volunteering at the Brain Aneurysm Foundation a couple of hours/week to get my mind going again, and I continue to pursue my love of art.
I am so glad to hear you are continuing to live, to inspire, and to make music. I am sure the Brain Aneurysm Foundation would absolutely love it if you performed (or even attended and enjoyed the evening) at the Annual Gala Fundraiser in March 2002. I would love it!!!
Please continue to take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. If you ever need more information or support, please contact the Brain Aneursym Foundation, 295 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA 02114 (617)723-3870.
Very Sincerely,
Heather Karp

Pat was one of the first jazz guitarists I had pretty much ever heard so it was awesome to see him in person and play astoundingly (not to mention his bandmates!)... looking forward to next time!

Fall river , Ma usa - Sunday, November 11, 2001 at 10:58:03 (EST)Dear Pat,
I have enjoyed "Live at Yoshi's" tremendously. I have admired your fat sound, intelligent phrasing and impeccable sense of time for nearly 30 years. If anything, your more recent playing has a more burnished edge than earlier material. I had the distinct pleasure of knowing and studying briefly w/Jimmy Raney, and relish the exquisite phrasing of Jim Hall; but you, without question are the most astounding jazz guitarist who has ever walked the planet. I salute your spirit! As a psychotherapist, I am sincerely moved by the story of your recovery, which helps me in my work with patients. The strength of the human spirit! Much love to you and your family. I am looking forward to seeing you (at) Chris' on the 24th.
