Hi Pat. I have enjoyed your music for a few years now, but it was after I had a brain tumor removed that I can truly appreciate your mastery and phenomenal story. You have been an inspiration to me during my recovery (it's now been 10 months), thank you. I'm looking forward to your show at the Regatta Bar in Boston at the end of January.

Hey Pat,
I am an Irish Jazz guitarist playing as a recluse for 15years now. I am sure I will want to share my style soon with the jazz community. Pat, you are an inspiration to me as well as Wes. I feel you are one of few to have adjoined with the duende of music and let it fully play you! I have been on this same journey myself. I have bought my ticket to your performance at the Regatta Bar, Boston MA, 27th 8.00pm.
I would really appreciate the chance to meet you while you stay in Boston for those couple of days. I really would learn a lot from you in 30 minutes or 15 minutes, I would pay whatever you consider just.
Your friend in jazz, Alan.

Hello, My name is Corey Milner. I am C.E.O. of Evolution New Media (http://www.evolutionnewmedia.com)
We are publishing a book of "101 Musician's Road/Gig Stories" to create money for the children's hospital here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Being that we are huge fans of yours, we decided to ask if there is a possibility that you would consider contributing an amusing or outrageous story(s) from your time on the road/touring/gigging and possibly a photo or two for inclusion in our publication.
We will release the book comercially through a Candian publisher here in Alberta, and donate 100% of the profits to the children's hospital here in Edmonton.
I'll keep this brief as I know you're busy, and I know you already share our dedication to help sick children in any way we can. Suffice to say that your participation in this project would mean very much to the children's hospital, and to me personally. Projects like this are win-win. The buyers of the book are happy with the excellent product we provide, and the kids get the care they deserve.
If you should choose to participate, please write a short letter giving us consent to use your material for this purpose and return it with your road story(s) and photo(s) either digitally by email at corey (at) evolutionnewmedia.com or otherwise by mail at:

Story(s) can be in audio format if you'd like, we'll edit them if you wish and typeset them. As a rule of thumb, stories should be around 2-5 pages, please send as many as you'd like. Tentative deadline is Jan. 15th 2001.
Please include any special instructions which you would like us to follow. I can promise that any requests/directions you include will definitely be honored, I will see to that personally. The goal here is to help kids, not to be sensational.
Either way, I would like to thank you personally for the many hours of enjoyment your music has given me, and wish you all the best... Likewise, if there is ever anything we can do for you (A complete list of our services can be found at http://evolutionnewmedia.com) please feel free to ask, we would be more than happy to help...
Thanks,
Corey Milner

Pat, the warmth and beauty of the Arizona desert provide a welcome retreat from the cold grey winter skies of New York. Why don't you come on out here to play and show us how hot things really can get here in Arizona? Really looking forward to experiencing you performing live someday.
God Bless

Hi Pat, I became a fan of yours when one of your students-turned-teacher (Sam Stipo?) assigned me "Consciousness" to absorb. At the first listen I was transfixed. I've been a fan ever since (that was 1976). Thanks for reissuing Joyous Lake and Starbright--I've been looking for those for years! Now I can't wait to see you for the FIRST TIME at Yoshi's next month! The wait's been long but worth it! Play on, Pat!

Hi Pat. I'm listening to "Mardi gras" right now. Beautiful.
I have recorded a CD of mostly my own compositions (plus "Old Devil Moon," one tune by Steve Brown, and one tune by Tom Waits) with my trio. I'd love to send you a copy and hear your opinion about it. May I send it to you?

Dear Pat,
Yet another great fan of Pat. This time a Dutchman living in Germany. Two questions:
1. Do you consider giving concerts in Europe?
2. Is there a sort of discussion group on your music on the internet?

Hi Pat- It is truly a special feeling to read all the wonderful comments about you in this guestbook. Suffice to say, you are a very admired and appreciated human being. I've only just discovered your music in this last year of my Jazz Degree- seems you are a secret no one was willing to share! Like Wes, your music just chokes me up. In support of another Australian who left a message here, please come to Australia. Can't wait to see and hear you play one of these days. Thanks for your beautiful inspiration and your spirit. And, may God bless your health at all times, my friend.

Pat - i'm very excited about your upcoming gigs at Yoshi's in Oakland CA. I've been wondering when you'd make it out here. Last time I saw you was 1987(or 88?) at Fat Tuesday's in NYC. I've been listening to the fantastic Willis Jackson album Bar Wars lately...anyone who's into Pat's playing has to hear it..it's really hot...
Later,
Dan.
