In the past year I've purchased all of the 32 JAZZ re-releases and often listen (the album depends on the mood I'm in), most recently "Live" (over and over again) and find it very inspirational- both as a guitarist and also from a pure artistic standpoint. Sometimes I'm in a fusiony mood and that album with Kenwood on drums really gets me going- I really dig some of those analog synth sounds, too. Thanks for all the pleasure during a dificult year (problems with my ulnar nerve have severely changed my music plans and playing) but I know I can pop in one of your CD's to get my swing fix! Sincerly, Paul Kent p.s. How about an album of Scriabin for pick-style jazz guitar? Just kidding!!

I am glad to see the transcriptions are coming to this site they are difficult to track down sometimes. Looking forward to the mellon show this summer. We are playing fusion and avant guard in a North Philadelphia jam session featuring up and coming conscious jazz musicians. I am saving for a lesson and hope to meet you soon. Thank you for the wonderful music.

Hi Pat, Harvey Mason called me today wanting to contact you so you'll hear from him soon. For the world to know - Pat is not only a supreme artist and intellect but a Prince among men as a Human beinging having shared valuable time mentoring and instructing me as an enthusiastic teenager many, many years ago. His simple acts of kindness and sharing helped to shape my life which is reasonably successful, accomplished and fullfilling ! Bob Wirtz - bassist, guitarist, educator, producer/engineer business man. Thanks Pat, see you soon.

Picked up First Light which is an interesting document of 1976. I definitely prefer the straight ahead hard bop you play but this was interesting. I was struck by 2 things regarding Starbright: 1. Starbright is a very pretty little tune. Ever considered bringing that tune up to date? Tony Levin's (King Crimson) Chapman Stick would make for an incredible arrangement - he's just over in Woodstock NY. 2. I think Pat Metheny must have been listening to this record, especially pieces like Eyes and The Fall. The guitar is just shimmering on these. It almost sounds like a set of Vibes. Next up: The Return and Live at Yoshi's. You da' man Pat! Please come to Arizona.

Hi, I've been a fan of your music since the mid-eighties, just completing the transition from vinyl to CD as far as I can. I've just opened a bar in Sheffield, UK. Your music goes down a treat here. Why don't you set up a tour in UK sometime soon?

I'm a student of yours' from the 70s' and over the years have gulped up all your books and videos and have,of course been at most of your engagements in New York especially the last couple of times at the Iridium because it was in the Organ trio context and you play your butt off at such a high level!I have left you notes at the last few engagements and count you as one of my most important teachers and I am always looking for anything you may turn out! I also get Jazz Improv and of course vol1 number 3 is devoted to your work!As I write this I have "INTERCHANGE" playing in the background pumping me up!! I will always remember how loving and caring you were at my lessons.I traveled from my job to have lessons with you and what a great job you did.I have all my original hand written lessons by you and remember how your wife/manager Geri added so much to a special time when I had dinner with you after one of my lessons! I want you to stick around for at least another 50 years! You have given the world some incredible music and so many electrifying nights of incredible guitar mastery! I'm so glad we have audio and video tape that has given us a permanent example of your great spirit and special talent!I will be at Birdland right in front in June to once again drink in your wonderfull gift.I love Pat and as a Classical Guitarist who plays solo would love to play some of your solo work in my concerts!By the way you said about a couple of years ago that you might be getting some european backing on some symphonic or chamber pieces! I have Phils'documentary and live performance videos and I loved the little snatches I heard of your work on the computer! Is there a chance we will see a cd of this? I am looking foward to you duo album that you just released! I have to get up early tomorrow for a solo gig so will check in with you later my dear teacher! Say hello to that special woman of yours' and I'll see you at Birdland! Love, Don Witter,Jr. Brooklyn,New York

Yo! Pat! Picked up a brand new copy of Exit, surprisingly on the old Muse lable, just before driving to Phoenix last night. I must have hit the repeat button half a dozen times at least to hear Three Base Hit! Incredible! I've been pluggin the heck out of your Linear Expressions and Creative Force books over at www.guitar.com in the message boards. Guys are starting to buy and posting praise for your teaching methods. I still don't see any bookings for Arizona. You're not gonna make me drive all the way to LA to see you are you. Come on! Tucson has the U of A and Phoenix is the 4th largest city in the US. Besides, I hear Joey D. lives here in Scottsdale. Arizona awaits you! Best and thanks for all the great music and teachings! Mark (Dr Diminished at www.guitar.com)

I've enjoyed your music for many years now. I think that the first thing that I heard was "East". I just want to say how much I enjoy your original sound and have been inspired in my own muscial meanderings. You, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, and Toy Caldwell are my favorites. I hope to hear alot more from you in the future! regards, Ezra Tamsky

Hi Pat Martino this is Stephen from Ireland, I haven't written t you in years. Pat I'm having some serious problems receiving your teaching systems thru IMP here in Ireland. I have already purchased both of your creative force videos and books years ago. I then purchased your quantum guitar video and enjoyed them thoroughly. I feel I have in your teaching system found a way to express myself thru simplicity. I had all of these things taken away from me by denser frequency vibrations and I've seriously been trying to purchase all this stuff again because I love it and that's all, but for some reason I can't get your stuff thru any musical print outlet in Ireland or even serious record outlets. My favourite album of yours is Desperado. Please could you help sort the situation as the last time I bought a video over the net it was American format and our videos can't play them. Thank you Pat - Stephen, glasmor (at) hotmail.com

Pat, so good seeing you Sunday night at the Iridium. I'm still high from the great show you always give your audience. Thanks for introducing me to your beautiful wife. I've known you for over thirty years, as an artist, more importantly as a person, you add to my life. I know Tony my son, will try to make your next engagement at Birdland. God willing, I'm hoping to keep in touch with you and will try to discuss with you at some point my suggestions for your continued growth. God Love you. Lorraine Flood, PS: Your touch on those Ballads, Sunday night, was so beautiful, the tears were starting to well up in these old eyes, thanks
