Dear Pat, I thank you for learning me your diminished
parental form. It opened to me a new horizon for the
comprehension of the quitar.
I would like also to say that the E,A,D,G,C,F tuning of the
quitar is ruther complicated. I play with E,A,D,G,C,F
having to think only groups of two neibour strings
this makes the instrument more symetricall and reduces the
finger positions. This tuning permit to me not to think
in 5 positions but in one and only.

Hi, Pat. I'm a Filipino working out here in Xiamen, Fujian, China for almost 4 years now. I'm 40 years old and I'm probably just one of a handful of Filipinos who like your music. I first heard your sound around 20 years ago thru a friend (God rest his soul) who played the guitar professionally. It was "CONSCIOUSNESS" and I couldn't make it out at first. It was only when I played the tape over and over that I realized it made me feel good.
Then I started copying some (a huge achievement) of your chops around ten years ago. I now have around 7 of your albums and they are a daily staple. I'm looking forward to getting most if not all your albums because I honestly don't if I'll ever see you perform live. But I'm glad I got your records so my 3-year old son and 2-year old daughter can listen and perhaps one day understand the sound of a guy who brought so much joy to so many jazz lovers.

Thank you for your music and knowledge. We´re a Music school in Spain and we use your "conversion to minor" system.
Since we know that you come to Alicante, we try to contact you. It will be an honour to learn from you a little, if you can have a little time for us
It's a dream for us! Anyway, we´ll go to the concert to see you.
See you there... Thierry Laforge and the guitar players at AULA DE MÚSICA.

Dear Pat,
I am quite new to your music. I loved your Stone Blue, which in my opinion is one of the finest jazz CDs I've ever heard. Thank you for such wonderful music ....

Dear Pat,
As a longtime follower of your playing(back to the Barry Miles, Eric Kloss days) I'm Finally getting around to transcribing some of your solo recordings; Prelude from Starbright for example, and I was wondering if some authorised scores exist and if you would be willing to comment on fingering and performance of these pieces. They deserve to be a part of the modern classical guitar literature. I could easily imagine John Williams playing a suite of your compositions. If there are any other students of your music who would be interested in sharing ideas or transcriptions please email me as I'm a bit isolated way out east here.
Thanks, Rick Smith

Dear Mr. Martino,
Looking forward to catchin' the gig at Blue Note in the City this September. It will be incredible to see the legendary genius that spawned so many other to explore the breath-taking and soul-stirring effects true jazz guitar can have upon music lovers. I've been listening to some killer jazz guitarists in the Hudson Valley, also we have many other long-times cutting CD's. The funny thing is. I have often found the shadow of Pat Martino weaving in and out of many riffs and melodies. What do you say about it?? They just can't do it like the Master. Keep the inspiration flowing!

Hello Pat: I glad you're alive and well. I've remember seeing you perform back at the old Keystone in S.F. when the original "Joyous Lake" album was out. I perform myself and you have always been a inspiration to me. Keep up the good work!!
Sincerely,

Pat: I am sitting here, listening to the Joyous Lake CD, and it is blowing me away (again)!! When Joyous Lake was first released, many years ago, I listened to your solo on Song Bird so many times that I could sing it note for note (I couldn't actually "play it" on the guitar - oh well)... It is fantastic to hear you playing again with the "Lake" crew on "Stone Blue" which is also one very badass disc!!
It is impossible to express in words just how much you have meant to me. Your playing has always hit me on a very deep level and it has brought much joy, happiness, and inspiration to my life. I met you in 80/81 at GIT and it was truly one of the high points of that great year.
Thanks again for everything, and keep up the great work!!

Hi Pat, hope you read this. I've been a fan of yours for a long time and I am so glad that you are recording and playing again. All Sides Now is a joy to listen to. You were missed by all of us fans of fine jazz. I hope you'll do a show in L.A. sometime soon. If you have, I'm sorry that I missed it and I hope you'll be back. House of Blues would be a perfect venue for you. Maybe I could buy you a beer after the show :) Anyway, I'm glad that all is well with you and I hope to see you in person soon.

Thank you for all of the years of great music. I was happy to
find Joyous Lake and Starbright together on CD-(finally!). I was
fortunate enough to see you perform at LA's Roxy during the Joyous
Lake tour in the 70's and the performance is forever etched in my
mind. Will there be any club dates in LA (Catalina's?) when you swing west
to perform at the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival? Thanks.

Pat, I just saw someone post the same question as I'm about
to ask, so I figure now its cool to ask . .. I'm looking for
a guitar teacher this summer to focus my playing and to
help learn the instrument. Is there anyone you can suggest
in the philly area. I'm looking for someone that is not
afraid or cynical of the modern jazz coming out now, similar
to the fusion found in the 70's. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you
reccomend? Thank You

Pat, we met at the Iridium, you were inspirational. I'm moving to Philly and thought you or someone else who might read this could suggest a guitar teacher. I'm a 23 year old student so my funds are limited but I will entertain any suggestion. Thanks

Hi Pat
I've been a fan since Starbright. Just wanted to tell you what
a joy it was to hear Stone Cold Blue - great writing and playing!
I was fortunate enough to have Delmar record on my CD, Native
Tongue. Would also love to meet you someday.
James Genus is a monster, too - I've been on the six string for
about four years and I'm still always discovering new territory
on the instrument.

Hi Pat, I'm Gianfranco Continenza from Pescara, Italy, and I'm listen to the talking of your guitar for a long time. I graduated at G.I.T. back in september '92. I'm 31 and I got my own music school called "Contemporary Music Academy". I did gigs with Joe Diorio, John Stowell, Jeff Richman etc. but I'd like to have you in my school for the clinic and for doing a gig with you, it would be great to have you here. Your new record is great as all yours records. Hope to hear from you soon.
ciao, Gianfranco
