The integrity of your playing has only been exceed by it's
honesty, which is why it is somewhat difficult to make comment
regarding your musical endeavors. All that you are is in the
body of your work, and is much appreciated by those of us who
have followed your career since the early Muse years. I'm very
enthused that "We'll Be Together Again" is available once
more as it's been one of my personal favorites over the years!
My friend, Doug Yankus, was a "voice" like yourself, and always
loved your music, almost in a somewhat sacred way! We use to
see you at Bunky's in Madison, WI when it still existed, and
you always left us inspired to a point that couldn't be put into
words. . . . Anyways, Pat, best wishes and may the Muse's
continue to blow your way for many years to come!!! . . . . .
Many Thanks!!! . . . .

I saw you at Joyous Lake circa 1977, and loved the album of the same name. Looking forward to hearing Stone Blue. Listening to Footprints as I write this. Hope you can make it to SoCal one of these times. It would be great to hear you play live again. Take care.

Hi Pat! I don't expect you to remember but I met you in the late 70's thru Ace Tescone and Buddy Delco. You were great then and continue to be. I'm hoping to catch you this year at the Mellon Jazz Festiva. Wishing you continued success and sound.

Dear Pat, I come from Japan. I'm your fan.
I listened to "The Maker". This was the most beautiful music I ever listened. Good taste and hard-boiled! I hope to recording by this album member again. ...See you...

Pat,
Your playing is a source of great interest to me and my friends. The spirituality and intellectualism that you combine in your improvisation is the pure spirit of jazz.

Hi Pat, I don't know if this is the right place to ask you any questions but since everybody does it..
Here are nine: 1) What were you thinking while playing your solo on "Just Friends" on El Hombre apart from which note should be next..
2) How big influence was Montgomery's playing to yours?
3) Dont you love Jim Hall??
Bye..

I am a jazz guitar player. I have been living in Montana my whole life
I am beginning to see that I need to get to a different area if I want to
become a successful musician. Any ideas? Where would you recommend that
I travel to to learn all about jazz? I was thinking Denver, they have
a good jazz school down there I hear. Anyway, any suggestions or advice
that someone more experienced in this field could lend me would be taken to
heart. Thanks--

Hi Pat,
Recently picked up "Head & Heart", heard a version of "Sunny"
that I haven't heard since WRVR went off the air. Sorry to have
missed your show, looked up the listing today 5/25 to find out the
last show was 5/24. Looking foward to Iridium in october. Have you
ever considered comming to Long Island and playing IMAC? It's a nice
stage, you'll surely have a full house.
Best regards,

Hello Pat:
I brought some friends to come see you play at the Blue Note the other night and we all loved it. I try to catch your gigs often (esp. if I can bring friends along who want to learn about jazz) because your work is so absolutely MUSICAL. I am often reminded of Clifford Brown's or Sonny Stitt's ultraclean lines when you play. Anyway you left us all deeply impressed and more educated and enthusiastic about jazz - not just guitar per se.
P.S. I was living in Lancaster on a business project and got to check out the Philly jazz scene. Philly rules!!!

Hello Pat. I'm an 29 y.o. jazz guitarist from argentina, I was greatly influenced by all your music, but I learned too much specially of the theme "Sunny" (of a live concert, I can't remember which) that which I heard and study your stilistic concept.
If you come sometime to Argentina, please contact me by this way. Sorry, my english is worst. A big hug for you.

The Philadelphia Inquirer printed an article about this year's Jazz Festival in June (PSFS Mellon?). The article says that "Guitarist Pat Martino will perform at Temple University's Rock Hall on June 16 in support of his latest album 'Stone Blue'." A

Mr. Martino, I'm sorry for unloading dissapointements about UNT onto your web site, I must have thought that this was the Pat Martino Psychological online clinic or something.
Well, I just want to thank you for being who you are, (your personality/vibe, I mean) I didn't know people like you existed. You, G.Benson and Wes are my favorite gtr players.
I really enjoyed your clinic here at UNT. Thanks!

Fall (I think) of 1968. Thursday night I'm laying on the floor of my parent's living room doing homework and listening to Yvonne Daniels' jazz show from Chicago on the old floor console stereo. I am half hearing a bass drone under eastern sounding pian
o arpeggios. Then I hear that distinctive sound. I listen to the entire 12 minutes (they don't play tunes that long anymore). "Who the hell is that? Please, don't play the next song without telling me!" Pat Martino. East. 30 years goes by fast and I don'
t necessarily listen to much guitar-based jazz anymore. But, I've never passed up an opportunity to listen to Pat whether he's playing with Jack McDuff, Trudi Pitts or Mike Stern. I still have my original East album and all the good memories that came fro

Dear Pat,
Very happy for you. STONE BLUE is the best album you've ever made, and it's nice that your young acolytes from Joyous Lake are now your peers and have a lot more to bring to the table creatively both in terms of music and lives lived over twenty years.
Everyone sounds great and bassist James Genus really gives the music great depth and range on his six-string bass.
You've been out there on the front lines for so long. Glad things are moving ahead so that you can share your musical insghts with more and more people.
Best of luck, and look forward to hearing your band real soon.
Love,

Dear Pat,
In 1980-81 when I was a guitar student at G.I.T. in L.A., I had
the priviledge of your inspiration as Artistic Counselor in
residence, and more importantly friendship... Regarding
the latter, we often communicated about spiritual matters, as I
was already then a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism (I gave you
a Krishnamurti book amongst other things).
You may not recall some of that but I would love to email you
privately on this matter, since it may not be of concern to
all the readers of this great but nevertheless public
guestbook.
Please inform me how to email you privately somehow.
With fond memories and regards,
