My son and I are just back from the Berks Jazz Fest, where we were treated to one of the best concerts we have ever seen, and where we met the absolutely nicest, warmest, most sincere person imaginable. Just watching your long slender fingers flitting over the strings and the sounds emanating therefrom is a memory to be forever stored in our minds. It was such an honor to speak with you, also. We wish you good health and long life... thank you for the beauty of sound and sight to which you treated us. Lil and Craig Goldberg

Greetings Mr. Martino,
I too just got back from Chuck Loeb's String Training class [I was the only bass player there :-)] and I wanted to express my sincerest gratitude for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and music. I'm really enjoying the handouts and I'm seeing the tremendous value in viewing my instrument in a new way (rather than the more traditional, piano-based, horizontal/scalar approach). It's going to take a little while to sink in but I know this will be incredibly useful to me as I continue down the students long path. Also intriguing to me was the philosophical/spiritual aspect of your presentation, which seem to me to be so connected to being a musician, being truly alive, and living in the moment. Thanks so very, very much!

Hi Pat! Think of you often and our time of friendship in Rochester NY. I am doing a gig with Chuck Mangione in May for the first time in many years. Bat McGrath will be there too. Stanley Watson would have loved this if he were still alive.
It's great to see how well you are doing and your gift is stronger than ever.
Would love to talk sometime if you get a chance.

Hi Pat. I just got home from the Chuck Loeb String Training Clinic. WOW!
I think you'll remember me telling you that I'm a retired public school teacher (guitar) of 32 years, and if I could go back 20 years and "plug in" what I learned from you this afternoon, I would gladly give up my retirement! Your session was amazing. Hope to see you again soon. Thank you for re-vitalizing my love for teaching. Joe

Dear Pat. My brother Martin and myself have appreciated and enjoyed your 13th march 2007 Basel (Switzerland) concert show greatly. We found exiting your playing and talking to the crowd and would like to take the opportuniy to thank you again very warmly. We also enjoyed the outstanding performances of your fellow group members. Unfortunately we did not understand their names, however we recognized, that the line up changed completely from who was announced. Thanks for your help. Best personal regards, Felix Bader

Dear Mr. Martino,
My guitar teacher Gus Schnable and I am really looking forward to seeing you play on Friday in Philadelphia; I have been a huge fan ever since my Aunt Patte introduced me to your music with a copy of All Sides Now. Your playing and tone is so amazing and refreshing to hear, and your picking exercises have helped my playing tremendously. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful music!

Hello!
I nearly fainted when I heard about your European tour! Last year me and my cousin visited the Northsea Jazz Festival just to hear you play. It was a blast seeing + hearing you play live for the very first time. You even signed a copy of "Live at Yoshi`s" for me afterwards and showed us what a kind and humble person you are. Thank you so much for this!
We are looking forward to hearing you again in Cologne - finally in Germany again. Especially me, since it`s my 27th birthday. I cancelled most festivities and will now bring some family to your gig instead. What a day...if you want to make it even "more perfect" you`re playing "Strings" or "El Hombre" for my birthday:-)!! I just can`t wait...

Dear Pat Martino:
I am very much looking forward to your April Iridium performance. I was wondering if you were planning to play 4 on 6? I can't get enough of it, playing it in the car every day for two weeks and then trying unsucessfully to figure out bits of it on the fretboard (not while driving, juggling coffee and cellphone is bad enough). Any chance for a master class in New York anytime?
Sincerely, Gareth Hougham

Dear Pat,
I was at your late gig at Ronnie Scott's last night - I'm the Starbright ("1975") fan who shook your hand. I used to listen to the record all the time. I stopped when I left Montreal (and my record collection) for London in 1990; just one of those things... I am so glad I spotted your gig all those years later and managed to get in. I am looking for the CD, which Amazon tell me will take 2-3 weeks to arrive. I cannot wait.

Hi Pat,
I met you back around 1975 when you played in Seattle at the Pioneer Banque. I was the bar manager there at the time and had recently moved there from Philly. After bugging you for almost two weeks you finally consented to giving me a lesson. I have to thank you again. I still use that lesson to this day! You showed me how to get 70+ inversions out of every chord. I was so glad to hear you come back from surgery and get your chops back. Live at Yoshi's kills! All the best,

Dear Pat:
I love your music and style of playing. I have been struggling with fretboard visualization. Your Nature of Guitar is a great system. May I purchase a hard copy or electronic file? The current web form is difficult to cut and paste or print.

Hi Pat, I listened to you in Milan last Tuesday: thanxs for that great human ed musical experience!
You really tops my expectations every time.
Following your path, IÂ’m re-discovering jazz and IÂ’m resuming my guitar, as a child trying to make up for the lost time!
I began to play guitar when I was almost 17 years old but then I left all behind, wrapped up only in my job and family.
Now IÂ’m 37 years old: IÂ’m discovering thereÂ’s something else I want to do, to say to myself and to the others.
My guitar is a way. Unfortunatly I forgot about music so much through these years and now I have to reach just only a base level on my guitar!
But I donÂ’t want to give hope and your human example is a strong motivation force for me.
Thanxs!!
