Dear Pat, My name is Mel Henderson. I live in Rochester N.Y. looking forward to attending your master class in France this August. I'm really interested in taking private lessons with you. Please let me know if that's possible sometime in the beginning of April, and what I would need to do to make that happen. I've been a great fan since your album The Visit, and would consider it a great honor to have a one on one with you. Sincerely Melvin A. Henderson

Pat: You may not remember me,but a couple years ago you allowed me to come into your home and study with you. I was around 20 years old and accompanied by my grandfather. I'm just writing to tell you how much that session changed my life. It wasn't so much the guitar lesson but what you taught me about musical perspective. I have encountered some terrible people in jazz but what you taught has really allowed me to see the truth of this music. Perhaps someday we can meet again!!!! With the upmost respect-TONY GREAVES

Hi Pat, Well the Berks Jazz Fest (Reading, PA) is once again a phenomenal success...dedicated to the memory of Grover Washington, Jr, who was to perform. This year's Berks Jazz Jam was particularly good. Players included John Pattitucci, Eric Marienthal, Chuck Loeb, Joe Mcbride, Kenny Blake, Brian Culbetson (on trombone!) and Jonathan Blake on drums (Jon Blake's son)...2 non-stop hours of just playing the standards and bringing down the house. It was a night to remember. Eveybody had a great time, fans and players alike. What amazed me about this year's festival was the sincere gratitude and admiration that each of these players expressed for the Berks Jazz Festival and how important a stop it is for them as the jazz fest season kicks in...one of the finest and best organized festivals in the country, as Eric Marienthal put it.. It has been just absolutely wonderful and we in Reading would love to see you become a part of it. Your presence would really give this amazing jazz fest that special touch of class. You have a lot of fans here who will, no doubt, beat the ticket office doors down to get tickets to see you in action. Philly's WJJZ has become one of the major sponsors. We hope to see you here in the near future, Pat. Check out the website www.berksjazzfest.com. Something for you to think about. :) Here's wishing you good health and happiness. Erwin

Pat, My guitar teacher, Paul Ostrof, introduced me to your recordings in 1970. Paul had a spinal abnormality and did not recover well from the partial paralysis his surgery left him with, and he cannot play any longer. He did his admiration of your work onto me, however, and after many years of study and work I am shifting my work focus into music therapy. You have been part of the inspiration I needed to change my life; you have my eternal gratitude. Jay

Dear Pat, I am the artist responsible for the Joyous Lake drawing in your gallery. I was shocked to discover the drawing after all these years (I did it around 20 years ago)! My friend Jack Zucker, a former student of yours, asked me to do the drawing, and in return, you sent me a thank-you in the form of your own original artwork, which I cherish! I am honored that you are displaying my work on your website, but please credit the Joyous Lake drawing to me, as you have given credit to the other artists whose work is displayed in your gallery! Respectfully yours, Tricia Walters

Dear Mr. Pat Martino: I would sincerely like to thank you for the time you spent with me on February 26, 2000. It was an honor for me to be in your presence, and it also, in retrospect, was a life-changing experience for me. The wealth of material you gave me will take years to fully absorb- I can only hope to incorporate some aspects of it into my own playing as soon as is possible! The warmth and graciousness with which you recieved me will always remain an engraved memory, wherever I go. I again thank you for all the instruction, direction and sharing of insight on that afternoon. A devoted fan and admirer, DON PLUE.
