Hello Pat, and all lovers of the guitar. Winter has finally arrived in America's heartland. I sure do wish that we could get Pat to come back to the Dakota Bar and Grill. I saw all 4 shows when he was here (was that last year? seems like yesterday)and it was awe inspiring. Thank you Pat for so many hours of listening bliss. Of course working out some of Pat's things has caused me to pull my hair out. Thank God I had plenty to start with. Peace

I found your theories on the nature of the guitar interesting. Although the universe of our instrument is a hexagram, the nature of the universe is a tetrahedron. When two tetrahedrons are fused symetrically and rotated to a certain angle the perimeter of the shape appears as a hexagram. I see these applications on your instruction book covers. Furthermore, two tetrahedrons symetrically fused with light shining through the shape creates certain bent looking shadows. Portions of these shadows are the fonts above the letters in hebrew script. Pretty cool hugh?

Happy New Year, all. Reading the posts about Pat's seminars at Duquesne University a few years ago and the evening of astounding music at The Balcony in Shadyside got me going all over again. Those sequential events rededicated me to the guitar and have kept me grooved ever since! Everything is connected after all. Now really looking forward to receiving Seven Sketches...

Pat Martino is an iconic figure. His abilties and his essence speaks in ways that can be felt through the mind, soul and body. Pat has engraved his name in my history book anf will forever be the great virtuoso that defines resiliance and grace.

I just wanted to reiterate what the previous gentleman (Wes) said -- that Santa Cruz show was astonishing. I was having a back problem then that was so bad I could hardly stand up, even with codeine and a beer. I was so into the show I completely forgot about the pain.

My father(Frank) and I just pulled out an old reel to reel of "Holiday Soul"and still are blown away.Don Patterson and your "Patness" are so fat on those Xmas tunes. I am 31 now and I have heard that reel every single Xmas of my life!! Afew years ago we saw your seminar at Duquesne University in Pittsbugh (wow) and BOTH! shows at the Balcony in Shadyside. When we walked into the university you happened to be standing right in front of us. My father gave you a gentle tap and asked "How are you Carmine Azarra?". Your eyes opened a touch wider and after my father spoke of the old "Hurricane" club days- your memory was incredible.Even after all health problems you had endured. You even remembered hanging out in your hotel room with my dad and Tony Janflone,Sr. The seminar was incredible and the two shows were mind-altering. We were truly "JAZZED" It has been inspirational hearing and feeling your spirit all these years. My first musical memories were of you!! Thanx.

Mr. Martino, I went to see you for a lesson about 4 or 5 months ago. I don't know if you remember me but I was fifteen at the time and went to see you with my dad. It has taken a long time to comprehend all the ideas that you tried to instill in me that night but I'm finally starting to get it. I'm working on my high school graduation project about the nature of the guitar and I was wondering if I could use some of the illustrations from "Blue Book" and if I could possibly conduct an interview with you for the project (either by phone, e-mail, or in person) Thanks a lot. You've been a great inspiration.
