To Pat, Tony Calabro is my guitar teacher and he told me about you, I have just read your biography, it's INCREDIBLE... I've been learning guitar since I was 8, and I'm very priviliged that Tony introduces me to guitarists like yourself. From, Justin

Pat, I think you and George Benson are the two rawest guitar players living right now. I love your relentless attack, especially on up tempo tunes. I have always wondered how you get your tone so thick. Is it the amp or the guitar? Anyways, please come to Akron or Cleveland, I would love to hear you in concert.

Hiya Pat, I am a guitarist from St.Louis,Mo. During your last performance here at the "Bistro" we spoke of our dear friend Jerry Fields of Richmond, Virginia. A great teacher, musician and friend that we both studied with in our early careers. I think of Jerry often. He always spoke so highly of you. He said that at 16 years old you were the best he ever saw. The both of you are my greatest influences. In that group are of course wes and tal and django The next time I get a chance to talk with you, we will again lovingly remember him together.

Hi Pat, I'm a guitarist, I've been influenced by many guitar players, and thru the years, I've stopped listening to some of my influences because I get into a different style, but, YOU are always on my list, every year I get something musical from what I hear in your records... Great stuff on "nature of the guitar".

Pat- I first saw you at Keystone Korner after Joyous Lake came out and subsequently in Berkeley w/ Bobby Rose. These were the most intense live musical performances I have ever witnessed. For various reasons,I too, lost touch w/ my passion for music. To rediscover you and read of your journey is a great inspiration. I can't wait to see you at Yoshi's , I may have to attend every show.

Pat, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jimmy Smith, Tuesday, Feb. 8. When I hear recordings by these Hammond greats, I think of you cutting your teeth in organ trios. At any rate, it was sad news.

Hi Pat, congratulations on winning 'guitar player of the year'; well deserved. I sincerely hope that some day it will be possible for you to come to Australia so that I may have the pleasure of seeing you and hearing you play live. God bless, sincerely, Tony Calabro.

Hey Pat, I am a curious how focused you stay on the music you are known for. Do you find yourself getting diverted to other musical interests, and if so, do you force yourself back or just trust what will come? I find myself being pulled into my other musical self at the moment (opera tenor) and suddenly find the diet of "standards" and jazz-blues to be rather passionless in comparison. If you have any stories to share about balancing yourself in regard to this kind of situation, I would really like to hear it. Yours Always, Jeff Newell

It was really important to me that Deborah like you and she did. What a fantastic night. The food was fantastic, you were awesome, I can't believe you did the Wes tribute stuff, and I asked her to marry me on the way back to the hotel at the weird bowling alley by the Kodak theatre. Probably the greatest night of my life! (She keeps your autograph on the nightstand.)

Pat, It was great to hear you (for my first time seeing you live) last night at the Catalina in Hollywood. Your group played a beautiful set! I'm the guy that was in the trippy purple shirt; we talked briefly about sacred geometry and you asked me to give you my email address- so here it is. Thanks for being... Peace...

Pat, I have the pleasure of seeing and listening to you play with Chuck Loeb last Sunday at Jazz Alley in Seattle, WA. I have to admit in all the 30 something years I have played the guitar, I hadn’t seen you play live until then. It was an honor to hear and watch you ply your trade. Good luck in the future, and I hope to see you again.
