Pat's Guest Book archive, February, 2000.
Mr.Pat Martino, I was introduced to you music about a year ago by a jazz guitarist, an admirer of yours, since then I have gained much respect for modern technique and styles. Ther is alot of music out there that always seems recognizable. I was listening to Pat methaney's album 1999-2000 for the first time today and thought that it had a very fresh and beautiful essence. Why don't you guys get something together. I could only imagine sir, it would be pure joy to listen to that moment in time. Well thanks for the ear. I don't know if that would ever happen but it's a thought. Allright have a good day. Later.

DO YOU KNOW WHERE MORE CAN BE ORDERED? I WAS JUST A LITTLE GIRL AT THE TIME (5 YEARS OLD) BUT HEARD STORIES FROM MY FAMILY ON HOW MUCH MY FATHER ADMIRED YOU. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU, E-MAIL ADDRESS ENCLOSED. SINCERELY, DANA NUNO

Hi Mr.Martino, I hope all is going well with you and yours. It was a pleasure meeting you and your lovely wife. It's been many years,I've been trying to get to your concerts for awhile. It seems that I always find out at the last minute, and it's too late to get tickets. Your musicianship is beyond superb!!. I now know exactly what my parents meant about your music. My father I'm certain, would be so exited and happy to see one of Philly'own finally get the rightly deserve acclaim. Hopefully we'll keep in touch,or get together for lunch sometime. Maybe you'll get a chance to meet my sister Angie (Don's twin,I call her).oh by the way my mom (Dolores "DEE" Patterson) says hi. Take care and once again it was a pleasure meeting a real legend, along with your lovely wife.God Bless, Deveron

HEY Pat- I JUST CAUGHT YOUR SHOW AT THE NEW STAR CABARET ON
SATURDAY, IT WAS...WELL, IT WAS CATHARTIC. THANKYOU. ANYWAY, WE MET AT THE BAR BETWEEN THE 1ST AND 2ND SET AND I COULD FEEL SOMETHING SPECIAL IN YOUR PRESCENSE. IT IS THAT SAME FEELING OF SERENITY THAT I GET OUT OF MY OWN MUSIC. BEING THAT I AM A DELAWARE VALLEY NATIVE AND WILL BE SPENDING THE SUMMER IN PHILLY, I WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU OR JIM RIDL COULD RECOMMEND A PIANO TEACHER WITH WHOM I COULD STUDY WITH FROM JUNE UNTIL AUGUST. I WOULD LOVE TO COME STUDY WITH SOMEONE IN YOUR CIRCLE OF COLLEAGUES OR YOURSELF PERSONALLY. RIGHT NOW I AM A PIANIST WHO IS IN THE EMBRYONIC STAGES OF THE REALIZATION OF THIS VAST WORLD CALLED MUSIC AND WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME GUIDANCE FROM A MAN THAT I RESPECT SO MUCH. IT WOULD BE VERY NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU. THANKS-KEITH BURNSTEIN

Pat, I said hello to you while handing you your bag while
I was working bagcheck at Tower Records Classical Annex
In Philly..........in 1994.....ironically before I had heard your
music at all...........since then I have heard your music and
it has added quite a dimension to my guitar practice.
....................South Philly is a great place to be inspired
(good or bad) for making music, .......I hear alot of "South Philly"
among other things in your guitar work.......
I hope you are well..............P.

I would like to know, when will you play with the WDR Big Band in Cologne (Germany)? My friend Paul Shigiara (Guitarist living in Cologne) informed me that you were supposed to come last year, but due to health problems you could not come. I would like to know, if you will come to Cologne this year (2000), because I would like to meet you. I am a working musician in Europe and have appreciated your music since the early '70ies. If you are interested, you can find me in the home page www.jazzlike.de
Thank you very much and hope to meet you someday. Yours truly, P.C. Bryant.

Mr. Martino, I am doing my senior project at SFSU on some theories based off your logic. In particular your theory or theories involving chromatic movement as I am interested in the emancipations of tones in the 12 tone system. I am big fan that is dedicated to the educational process, any insight that would continue the process will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Pat,
I got the chart for "Slipback" from this website and in comparing it to the recorded version on "the return" it seems that 4 bars have been omitted in the chart. As far as my ears can tell bars 25 - 28 should be played twice before returning to the main phrase at bar 29.
Hope yer doing well, man.
