Just passing through, always heard about Pat but never really listened to any jazz guitar but from George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Byrd. It would be cool to see you here in Dallas. Sambucas perhaps? Mike

Dear Pat, Last March at Catalina's,L.A.I had the pleasure to see you again. I made referance to you about your status as an Iconoclast. Not in the literal sense of Webster's terms, but as a provost of progressive music for all of us that "love" Music/Guitar. You are living the life that most of us could only daydream about. Travel the Globe/make joyous music/respect from your peers and contemporarys, the list goes on,etc. What I like to say with your premission is that, when life tries my patience and I'm on the verge of being uncivil, I take a moment to reflect on "how would the gracious Mr. Martino handle it". I feel that is what makes your music special, is the love that you project as a person to others. I've meet you several times and always you take the time to meet and greet others with kindness. Always such joy/humbleness. I get so "pumped" after each time that I put it in to my own playing/studies. Yes I still consider myself a"searcher",but thats fine for me. One last thing, Your Books & Video's are fantastic and I would recommened them to all those serious Students. Your concept with the symmetrical polychords& the Minor Scales in successive minor 3rd intervals that follow is very "meaty", lots to digest. They work well to provide all the "altered" notes. (I anyalised all scales to chord inversions myself & this seems to be what I need to start playing/stop searching.) Thank you Pat,Merry Xmas, God Bless us ALL/Pray for world peace with music. Love you,Man!! Please don't stay away from us cat's in L.A. too long. Yours truely, William Jesset.

Hi Pat - I saw you way back when ('77 I think?) at a free outdoor concert at Bushnell Park in Hartford (Joyous Lake etc.). What a performance! I was so pleased to find this website and catch up things including your amazing "comeback", it's quite a story. Having been playing the pedal steel for a few years I was interested to hear (I think) you once hooked up with Buddy Emmons - would have loved to have heard that venture! Well, just a quick note to say "thanks" for all the wonderful music you have given your fans - I hope to catch another live performance if I can in the future. (P.S. enjoyed the digital images too).

I was fortunate to have seen you perform at Yoshi's in 2000 and 2001. I am always amazed by the energetic and proficient output from you and your accompinament. My first intro to your music was Baiyina: I bought it for the cover and was astounded! I hope to see you again soon. Best wishes to you and your family.

I saw the Trio at the Orange County Performance Center on 11/23, Sat. You played maybe 5 songs and departed rather quickly. Slightly disappointed - wanted another 5 songs! However, looking forward to seeing you again next year!
