Pat's Guest Book archive, December, 2000.
Yo! Pat! I received copies of Creative Force and Linear Expressions for Christmas. I started into the Creative Force book and after just 2 or 3 pages found myself slapping my forehead at the wonderful simplicity of your diminished parent chords. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
All the Best

Pat,
WE REALLY ENJOYED YOUR SHOWS AT THE JAZZ ALLEY IN SEATTLE AND HOPE YOU COME BACK NEXT YEAR! I INTRODUCED MYSELF TO YOU AND YOU REALLY FLOORED ME WHEN I MENTIONED "PASSATA FOR GUITAR" AND YOU SAID THAT YOU HAVE SOMETHING LIKE 30 OTHER SOLO GUITAR STUDIES IN THE SAME VEIN. I'LL BET I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THOSE!
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR MUSIC
IT HAS ENRICHED MY LIFE

Hello Mr Martino,I am a good friend of David Smith,I hold your works in high regard.I have some live recordings of David playing his compositions with a horn and their is a Duo album coming of Cory Sea and him.I can`t wait for the Merge 2 recording. My favourite album of yours would have to be "EXIT".I hope to recieve many other recording in the near future to add to clarity of your style as you have reached a point where you have clear voice within a musical
understanding of the real qualities of improvising a knowledge of the guitar and Jazz.Best wishes and the Merrist

We've been waiting and hoping for the legendary Pat Martino to put in an appearance in the UK, where there is a thriving jazz scene, and where many fans live. I personally can't wait any longer since my departure from the UK seems imminent. However, in about 2-3 years I may well be living in Los Angeles where I'm sure you frequent. I look forward to then. Happy Xmas from accross the pond.

Hi Pat- I took a couple of lessons with you a few years ago. At that time you told me to explore music in New York, which I did, but since have recently moved out to LA. I was driving around LA last week listening to "Stone Blue" and thought about our meetings and how you gave me a spark to go explore music in NY and eventually LA. Your playing on that album is really great, and I just wanted to say thanks for the time you spent with me and the inspiration you gave to me. I'll try to catch you the next time your in the area- until then, take care.

I'm really glad you came out to play in Seattle... I was at the 2nd set on an extremely cold Thursday night and it blew me away. Remember, Seattle is beautiful in the summertime!

I was in Chicago on December 9th and caught your act at the Jazz Showcase. It was a pleasure to see you again after more than 20 years. I grew up in South Jersey with Steve Laury, a great guitar player, formerally of Fattburger, who turned me on to you many years ago. It was as pleasure seeing and speaking breifly with Pat.

Hello Pat,
I can't fully describe how much it ment to me to actually see the mastery of your playing last night in Seattle. I wish I could have made it to all your shows, but I really enjoyed your last two Seattle sets.
Your original recording of Joyous Lakes was one of the key records in the late 70's that help me leaving my headbanging Rock and Roll youth behind. I've been a fan ever since the day I first heard the title track. It has always been one of those songs that speaks to my inner core. It has charged me up in times of need and always put a smile on my face and a glow in my heart and body when I need it most. That's for your dedication to THE MUSIC. I'm sure I can speak for many fans when I say, you've enriched all who have had the opportunity to hear you play.
Please come back to Seattle soon. Stay healthy and keep the music flowing.

Hi Pat, I just caught all 6 of your sets at Jazz Alley in Seattle. I was quite moved by not just your playing but the honesty and sensitivity to the music. You have made a life long impression on someone who has made "listening" a lifetime adventure. Thanks so much for the 3 wonderful evenings of musical magic.

Hi Pat Martino fans Last night I had the privilege of seeing
Pat perform. I have been a fan for years, first trying to
copy licks off of the Desperado album in the early 70s.
At the break, Pat was hanging around talking to fans.
But it felt like he was talking to family and closest friends,
there was a lot of love in the room. I spoke to Pat briefly
and he was very polite and warm. Besides being a burning player
and great musical mind, he is just a good guy. Hey Pat, my day gig is at Mackie.
If I can hook you up with any recording equipment let me know.
Thank-you for the great musicianship and inspiration Pat!

Pat,
I saw you play at the Jazz Showcase on Saturday evening, and it was an inspirational and emotional experience for me. I have been listening to your records since the late 1970's and have them all. Also, I am happy to have met you and spoken to you. My wife asked me about the performance but it was difficult to describe. The three of you sounded fantastic! Thanks for coming to Chicago !!!

Hi Pat, Going to the Jazz Showcase here in Chicago tonight to see you for the first time. Am a big fan of B3 organist Joey DeFrancesco who is with you tonight. With Billy Hart slammin' the skins, this should be great. Take care and the best to you.

i think its a great thing your doing Mr. Martino, educating people about "good" music, my teacher Tony Calabro really digs you man, and when he likes something he ensures his students will get to experience it too. When are you touring Australia?
Carl.
ps. Thanks for having a guest book, it is a great way for everyone to communicate.
