bergerac, 24100 france - Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 19:43:16 (EDT)Hello Pat,
My name is Jean & I was working at The Dakota jazz club in St. Paul, MN, when you and Joey DeFrancesco came through in March of 2002. I am delighted to have this opportunity to communicate with you. You were so kind to share your time last year - I'm sure I was one of many who was deeply moved not only at hearing you play in person, but at the opportunity to speak with you for a few moments. I ended up coming away with a photograph that you signed, while you were trying to pack up, no less! It is a cherished item that is a powerful reminder of your visit here - there is a great energy I feel in every visual re-connection. Having just read the article/interview on Classic Jazz Guitar, I am reminded that human beings can forge extraordinary paths from the materials given them, and that what is great adversity can also contain new doors miraculously open. I am familiar with the I Ching and cannot wait to study "Nature of the Guitar." I am a clarinetist, not a guitarist, but currently have a double hand/wrist injury from a bizarre accident. Had I been playing/touring as much as I normally do, there would not have been this kind of time to come upon all that I did today. There is great peace in reading your story. You are truly an inspiration. I loved reading about how you met your wife - it is a beautiful story, and shows that souls do recognize each other. She must be a lovely human being. All best to you & we hope to have you back at The Dakota someday soon! My apologies for the lenghtiness of this message -- Jean M.

Bethesda, MD USA - Monday, April 14, 2003 at 12:20:53 (EDT)Dear Pat:
It was such a pleasure to see and hear you again last evening! What an incredible solo you did on "How Insensitive", not to mention "Blue In Green", "Oleo" and others. You were so "on" and once again you have inspired me to dig deeper. Thank you my friend. Take care for now.

Annville, Pa USA - Monday, April 14, 2003 at 09:54:55 (EDT)Pat Martino is simply the best. I bought his conscientiousness album back in the 70's and was amazed by his smooth horn-like melodic lines; How he can stop and start on a dime. He definitely falls into my top five favorite guitarists. I just would like to know when Pat will be in my area. He's needs to come out into the westside more often.

Whittier, CA USA - Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 21:30:10 (EDT)Hi Pat,
I'm sure glad you still keeping busy. I was wondering about your recording of "Bar Wars". Were you using a Gibson L5? What model amplifier was used on that recording? Hope you can answer this question. If not I will understand. Thanks, Your Friend in Las Vegas Dan Avalos......
