I'm also the guy who commisioned the portrait of you from Trish Paveso and had given it to you as a gift sometime in the late '70s!

I studied with you for a year in the late '70s. You were and are a huge inspiration to me both personally and philosophically. I hope someday I get to hang out and talk with you again.

todi, italia - Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at 07:57:32 (EDT)Dear Pat,
At the North Sea Jazz Festival 2001, you told me about possible plans for a European tour. How far have these plans developed? I would love to see you on tour in Germany, the Netherlands, etc.. I told everybody about your concert in The Hague. They all should have been there. After the concert, there was no need to hear any other band.
To me, all what could be said you did already.

Munich, Germany - Monday, April 15, 2002 at 16:28:50 (EDT)Pat - I've been amazed and inspired by your music since the 1970s, when I first heard the LPs "Joyous Lake", "Consciousness" and your work on Eric Kloss's "One, Two, Free". Over the last few years I've been buying just about all the Pat Martino CDs I can find, from "El Hombre" through the "32 Jazz" recordings through "Live At Yoshi's". I think you are a landmark player in the history of jazz guitar.
I noticed a booking at Blues Alley in Washington DC on your itinerary, but it disappeared. I hope you are able to do some concerts in the Baltimore/Washington area. Thanks for several decades of great music.

Columbia, MD USA - Saturday, April 13, 2002 at 12:04:40 (EDT)Hi Pat,
I saw you most recently (at) Chris' in Nov. '01, and it was simply the greatest live performance I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. I would like to know if you archive your performances, or would be interested in doing so- it can be done so well and so inexpensively these days. Next time I see you play, I'll bring the stuff I use to archive my own stuff, and you can see how simple and compact the whole thing is. As a fan, I've always wished the notes didn't disappear as you hear them, and could be savored again later. Good luck, and good health to you and yours, and I hope to see and hear you soon!
Cheers!

Georgetown, bWI Grand Cayman - Monday, April 01, 2002 at 22:08:13 (EST)Hi Pat,
I took a guitar lesson with you back in 99 I believe. I am still to this day working on the material you gave me. The information was great. Well alot has happened since then. We originally met back at Disc Makers when you released your "Seven Sketches" album. Anyway, I have since left DISC MAKERS and been teaching for the past two years. Last year in an elementary school. This past year I was hired to start the guitar program (at) Washington Twp High School. Things are going so good that they asked me to write a curriculum for a guitar II and a Guitar III class. You seem a bit busy so I am not sure if there may be a chance to meet with you over the summer or not for a lesson. I enjoyed the one lesson we did have. Thanks for sharing your heart, and your life with me. Truley music is more than what we hear and see. Thanks for your wisdom Pat....hope to speak with you soon. GOD BLESS
